Desktop router from the company Huawei with a slot for a SIM card, which allows you to provide Internet access for a small local network using a mobile connection.
What are Huawei Mesh 3 class Wi-Fi 6 wireless routers?
Earlier this year, Huawei introduced new wireless routers in Russia, which are combined into a Mesh system. This is necessary in order to increase the Wi-Fi coverage area of the home or work Internet network.
For a small apartment, even with a few rooms, one powerful router may be enough. But if you have a large house with several floors, then you will either have to lay a cable or install a so-called Mesh-network.
Running a cable is a great idea (no delay, lossless signal), but nowadays it is somewhat useless, because almost every modern device has a Wi-Fi module, capable of working not only with Wi-Fi 5, but also with Wi-Fi 6, where the speed can reach 11 Gbit/s.
In fact, that is why various Mesh systems have recently become popular – from TP-Link, Asus, D-link, Zyxel and now from Huawei.
The new product is simply called Huawei Wi-Fi Mesh 3. From the unequivocally positive points:
- Support for Wi-Fi 6
- One-touch connection with NFC
- Easy configuration of all settings through the app
- Signal coverage up to 600 m3 with three routers
- Wireless communication between routers
- Easy connection and setup
The cost of a set of two devices is 20,000 rubles, and of three – 28,000 rubles.
This material is not a review. This is more of an impression of the device at home. In a month or two I will go to the country house and tell you how this system works in the most difficult conditions.

Inside the devices are very neatly arranged, and between them lay boxes with accessories: patch cord category 5e cable length 1.2 meters, three power supplies (12V/1A, 1.5 meter cable, round plug at the end), instructions and warranty card.

Home Wi–Fi new generation
HUAWEI WiFi AX2 is a Wi-Fi 6 household router that provides a maximum theoretical dual-band data rate of up to 1500 Mbps[1]. True Dual-band technology allows associated devices to analyze signal quality and automatically switch between 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies. The 5 GHz band provides high-speed performance when playing games or watching online video, while the 2.4 GHz frequency guarantees a reliable connection regardless of the distance to the signal source. Switching is seamless, with no need to interrupt an online conference or download a video file.
The HUAWEI WiFi AX2 supports HarmonyOS Mesh+ technology, which enables users to easily set up a multi-level network, greatly increasing the range of the Wi-Fi signal. The HUAWEI WiFi AX2 provides up to 90m² of coverage[2], so in larger areas, users can connect a second router and extend the coverage area up to 160m²[3] . The Super Seamless Roaming technology included in HarmonyOS Mesh+ supports seven roaming algorithms, including 802.11k and 802.11v. With its high (50ms[4]) switching speed, users can roam freely around the home without interrupting gaming sessions or watching videos.
Smart technology for a smart home
The HUAWEI WiFi AX2 offers smart features for managing home wireless networks within the HUAWEI AI Life application. The app includes smart diagnostic tools to visualize Wi-Fi signal coverage, detect and troubleshoot wireless network problems, and manage device connectivity. Users have access to parental controls that allow them not only to limit the amount of time children spend online, but also to block sites with inappropriate content.
To protect users from the growing risks of cyberattacks, the HUAWEI WiFi AX2 supports HUAWEI HomeSec™ technology, which provides multiple layers of home network protection. It includes Brute Force Attack Prevention, which is capable of detecting and preventing unauthorized access to a wireless network through password mining. The HUAWEI WiFi AX2 supports the latest authentication standard and 192-bit Wireless Protected Access III (WPA3) encryption to ensure data security. Users who have frequent guests can also set up guest Wi-Fi: a separate network with its own password. Devices connected to the Internet via guest Wi-Fi are isolated from the local network, eliminating the possibility of access to the owner's personal data.
With the HUAWEI AI Life app, users can also delete unnecessary connected devices and change the password, reducing the security threat.

The company's priority, as mentioned above, is to create mobile network access devices. There are two main varieties – with a built-in modem and with an external one.
These are desktop routers, which have a modem integrated into their housing. Such a router assumes the presence of a slot for a sim card, which is used to connect to the network. Also a distinctive feature is the presence of LAN ports for wired connection of devices, as well as in some models even the RJ-11 jack for configuring IP-telephony and telephone connection.
