How to disconnect a paid subscription to connect to the Wi-Fi in the subway

The trip in the subway with the advent of wi-fi has become more convenient, productive and interesting. Passengers can do their work, read books and watch videos. But there is an important disadvantage that irritates many users and wants to give up: advertising, which appears after connecting to the network.

Therefore there is a question concerning wi-fi in the subway: how to disable the paid subscription. It can be removed with the help of monetization.

What gives a paid subscription to Wi-Fi in the subway

Advertisers help the Internet provider to distribute the connection to passengers for free. For this, users need to view the advertising block before connecting to the Wi-Fi. AdvertisementIt is possible to turn off advertising by paying a subscription to the "Like Home" service. It makes it possible to use the network as soon as a person enters the car. No need to open the browser, "login". This is especially convenient if the network is unstable and you have to sign in several times during the trip.As at homeIt is possible to turn off advertising by paying a subscription to the "Like Home" service. This is especially convenient if the network is unstable and you have to sign in several times during the trip. If necessary, you can disable the subscription to wi fi network in the subway.

A paid subscription in the Moscow subway costs 129 rubles per month. The money is automatically deducted from the subscriber's account at the end of the term of use. You can also connect a package for 3, 6 or 12 months. The package cost will be 447 rubles for 3 months, 777 rubles for 6 months and 1177 rubles for a year. There is only one monthly tariff for 129 rubles in the St. Petersburg Metro.

Fares

Important! When subscribing for 3, 6 or 12 months, you should know that the payment will be a one-time fee. The subscription will not automatically renew. In general, the monthly fee is charged on a monthly basis.

There is a single tariff for the capital, valid for ground and underground transport. The monthly cost is 277 rubles. Three months without advertising – 990 rubles, six months – 1690 rubles, a year – 2250 rubles.

Prices for tariffs may increase. In this case the Maxima Telecom service provider sends out messages to users warning them about the increase in the cost of services.

Payment is made in two ways: by debiting the account or using a bank card. How to disable auto-payment for wifi in the subway depends on the payment method.

Moscow and St. Petersburg metro technologies: differences

Subway accessibility sign

Do you think everything is the same in Moscow and St. Petersburg? Well, it's not. The two capitals of our country differ even in such little things as organizing WiFi access in the subway. Visitors to these two cities can even be confused – because everything is different here. Some have WiFi in the car, while others only have it at the station. And vice versa. And it's all about organization.

In the Moscow subway, the main signal dispenser is the routers, which are in the car. There are none at the station. That is, to connect to the network you can only be in the car – on the platform link will appear only with the approaching train.

During movement the router in the car is picking up the signal from the stations via optical cable. It does all the work of switching between the points. All passengers of the cars do not feel it and have stable connection at any moment.

technology

In St. Petersburg it is the opposite. The network access is only at the stations, where the routers are installed. In the car itself there is nothing of that kind yet. So habitual Muscovites may be surprised – they seem to have heard about free Wi-Fi, but for some reason it's not available in the usual place. You can't help it, you'll have to get used to it.

Internet in MosMetro appeared in 2015. Each car is provided with a 100 Mbit/s line.

Connection

Once again, let's briefly summarize the connection to the subway network:

MT Free network registration

Anyone can start using the MT Free Wi-Fi network. For this you need to have a smartphone, tablet or laptop, you can connect to any convenient gadget. In a car, bus, streetcar or other transport, just turn on the Wi-Fi to find the popular city network. Connection is automatic, but the first time you need to register. It is possible to tick the checkbox for automatic remembering, and subsequent authorizations will occur without additional actions.

By phone number

The main way of registration in MT_Free is by phone number. After switching on Wi-Fi and selecting an access point, connection to the network will occur and you will be offered to go to the site for authorization. Registration takes not more than 1 minute:

  • Select the appropriate registration method.
  • Enter phone number in +7 format; the first digit will be already specified.
  • To confirm we'll send a free SMS message with a code.
  • A verification code will be entered into the registration confirmation form.

After that the average speed will be automatically available and you will be able to within an hour to use the network without reconnection.

MT FREE authorization in WI-FI network of Moscow Metro

Via Gosudarstvennosti

The second method of authorization is via Gosudlit. This is a great opportunity for everyone to reduce registration time and do without confirming the phone number.

Most people use the Gosuslugi portal by phone, so the login and password are automatically saved in the browser. If you connect to a Wi-Fi network, it is enough to change the registration method and simply log in using Gosuslugi, confirming your data.

Deactivate

City Internet can interfere if you need to use the connection from your phone, or to deactivate the network at all. Many smartphones are set up for automatic authorization for convenience and to save time. It's important to understand how to go about the deactivation process.

The easiest thing to do is to flag the Wi-Fi connection itself. To do this, it is enough to lower the "curtain" and disable the connection icon itself, or do it with the settings. It is also possible to prohibit authorization in a particular network by deleting it from the memory of the mobile device.

How to remove ads in the subway WI-FI

Rates

In spite of the fact that subway wireless service is free of charge, when you activate it there appears an advertising clip. To remove it you need to pay money to the account of the provider "Maxima Telecom". Monthly subscription is 99 rubles, and for six months – 444 rubles.

If the user is not ready to disable the ads for money, then try another option. As soon as the banner appears on the smartphone screen, click it. The system automatically redirects the user to the advertiser's web resource without having to view it. Now the client closes the tab with the advertising site, and uses the Internet at his own discretion.

Ghostery

The third option involves the use of special applications or browsers with built-in ad blocker. For example, the Ghostery browser blocks any banner online.

Important! Viewing the commercial is a prerequisite for access to wi-fi. Attempting to block it is a violation of the contract of offer.

Java Script

Also owners of communicators can disable the use of JavaScript through the settings of browsers. The option is in the tab "Settings", item Java Script. But after authorization procedure it is necessary to activate the option again, because many sites will be incorrectly displayed.

The service "As at home".

The service to disable advertising when using a public wireless connection is called "As at Home" by the provider. You can subscribe to the service when you first connect to Wi-Fi in the Moscow subway. As mentioned above, the service is paid, the cost is 99 rubles per month.

Why WI-FI does not work in the subway

When trying to connect to a wireless network, sometimes there is an error code 128. To fix it, you need to perform the following actions. Close the current browser and try another one. If that doesn't work, uninstall the browser and then reinstall it.

Other errors may also occur. Let us list the most common ones:

Opera Touch

  • During initial registration is not recommended to use Opera Touch browser: it does not correctly process the web resource. Run any other application, pass the authorization, and after that you can return to Opera.
  • If the identification window is not displayed, it is worth checking the address bar. The header should begin with https. This is explained by the fact that a secure communication channel is used to access Wi-Fi.
  • Sometimes the Wi-Fi module on the mobile device does not work correctly. You should disable it, and then activate it again.

If any of the subway cars does not have a wireless connection among the list of available ones, you should contact the provider's technical support service via e-mail. The user writes a letter to [email protected] with the name of the branch and the number of the car.

How to connect to the network?

For those who were too lazy to read the article offered at the very beginning, I offer a brief infographic on how to connect to the Internet for free on the subway:

How to disable Wi-Fi "Like at Home" in Moscow subway: step by step instructions

For automatic entry to the Play Market and App Store, new apps come and go regularly – try it at your own risk. For me, it's easier to wait a little while. For the most impatient, a paid service was created.

About the "Like Home" service

And this section I will devote to some of the nuances of using the service. Let's summarize:

  • Metro's "Like Home" service is subscription-based, with devices tied to their MAC address in your personal account. Full offer:
  • You can sign up for the service either at wi-fi.ru or through the MT_FREE mobile app (available for Android and iOS ). You log in, bind your device's MAC address, and pay.
  • If you want to change the means of payment – wait until the end of the subscription, disconnect the service, reconnect it and pay by the desired method.
  • It is possible to transfer the service to another device within one number, not more than 5 times a month. You can do this by pressing the "Transfer to another device" button in your account or in the application. The alternative is to write to MaximaTelecom mail.
  • Binding is valid not for the whole cabinet, but for definite devices (up to 5 items) – if you change the phone, don't forget to make re-binding.

That is all. Once again I remind you that if you got to this page and didn't solve your problem, describe it in comments. We'll try to figure it out together, and maybe it will help our readers in the future!

Subway Wi-Fi has its own exchange for selling ads

aura_place

Ad impressions in the subway can be filtered by gender, age, interests (you can fill them out in your personal account), device models, stations and even the weather. Theoretically, any company can order advertising in the subway at a special exchange.

According to metro-msk.ru, 1,000 impressions of an advertising spot cost 800 rubles, not including seasonal factors.

There is also a news aggregator at wi-fi.ru, which sometimes contains "gins". In the near future, "MaximaTelecom" plans to develop the direction of native advertising and is working on creating its own urban media.

The cost of Wi-Fi introduction in the subway is about 2.5 billion rubles

This is the amount of investment in the project a year ago announced in an interview the head of the company "MaximaTelecom", which began providing the Internet in the Moscow subway on September 1, 2013. The money invested is planned to be repaid no earlier than 2020.

In 2016, there were more than 700 million connections to the network. This is about two million people and 70 terabytes of traffic per day. More than 5,000 cars in 650 trains are equipped with access points.

How to connect

Many passengers try to find out in advance how to connect Wi-Fi in the subway, going on the road. This process depends on what device you need to do it on. In any case, the connection will be free.

On your phone

You can connect to Wi-Fi Metro using your phone (smartphone or iPhone).

Note! It is not possible to connect to wi-fi in transport in the same way as at home. You will need to authenticate, and to do this, you need to make a few simple steps.

  1. Open the list of available networks for Wi-Fi on your phone.
  2. Select a network called MosMetro_Free or MT_Free.
  3. When the connection is established, open the browser and type vmet.ro in the search field.
  4. Go to this site and open the "Authorize" tab.
  5. A page will open where you must enter your phone number. Write the numbers you want and click "Next".
  6. Receive an SMS with a verification code.
  7. Write this code.
  8. Now you can go to any sites and use any applications that require a connection to the network.

The disadvantage of this method is related to the fact that not all cellular operators have a reliable system of information protection. For this reason the SMS with the code may come late or not come at all.

Pay attention! GSM network coverage reliably protects cellular communications and allows you to receive calls and messages on time.

It is very important to remember how to re-enter the network. It will allow you to use the Internet every day.

You can access the Internet for free from all the devices linked to a particular phone number. There is an automatic connection to the Network, the user only needs to log in to an account.

Important! Do not use the Wi-Fi network to access your mobile bank and e-wallets in the metro. Anti-virus or VPN will come to the rescue.

Registration in the subway Wi-Fi

It's best to connect to the MT_FREE network. To do this, in addition to tying the phone to the gadget, you need to perform a few simple actions.

  1. Open a new tab in the browser and enter the address of the website gowifi.ru.
  2. Select the "Login to the Internet" option. You can then search the web for free, read the news and access social networks.

Pay attention! It is easy to use the mobile application MT_Cabinet. You can install it by downloading it from the application store. If it is installed, you will be online in a few seconds.

  1. The app will send you a Push-notification that you can log in. Click on it.
  2. A new page will appear with a button that invites you to log in. You need to click on this button, and then a connection will appear.

This is a free and fast way to find out the morning news and weather on your way to work or school.

There are three ways to register on the metro network:

All of these steps are described in detail above. All you need from the user is attention.

We should be careful with our data and not access mobile banking over a shared network

Network architecture.

Each base station on the train route is connected to the switching nodes located in the offices of the subway with the help of a dedicated fiber optic network. Uninterrupted power supply to base stations is also arranged with the help of equipment installed in these switching points.

The architecture of the fixed data transmission network does not differ from the typical architecture of telecom operators. It is a "double star" with geographical redundancy of communication channels and key equipment. The network has several links with backbone operators, with a total bandwidth of more than 60 Gbit/s.

Network equipment at the access level (switches, which directly include base stations), aggregation, as well as the core is represented by Cisco switches and routers.

The base stations are connected to the switches using WDM technology to save fiber (i.e. one fiber at different wavelengths simultaneously receives and transmits data). The access switches have two geo-redundant uplinks (the Fibre Channel cables are physically located in different tunnels) to the aggregation switches at 1 Gbit/s each. Those, in turn, are connected via geo-redundant links to the core switches, but already with 10 Gbps interfaces.

Houston, we're in trouble.

  • withstands severe operating conditions in the tunnel (suspended metal dust and machine oil) and on the rolling stock (sharp temperature fluctuations and vibration);
  • that meet Metro requirements (use non-flammable materials, comply with the electromagnetic compatibility requirements, operate from non-standard power sources)
  • having the functionality required for the network operation.

We could not find a reasonably priced power supply with such parameters, and the cost of suitable options made the project impractical.

Here we were very helped by a company from Novosibirsk, Sibkontakt. According to our requirements, our colleagues made a power supply unit, which we have successfully tested and subsequently used in all trains. The devices were very reliable, inexpensive and the supplier managed to produce the required quantity in several weeks, not months as it usually happens.

We also encountered with a non-standard power supply in the tunnel. – a two-phase, 127-volt mains supply. It's not possible to power single-phase 220V equipment from it, so we laid new cables from our own power supply sources, installed in the stations' technical rooms. It increased the reliability of the network, because we used uninterruptible power supplies and automatic transfer mechanisms.

There were a lot of difficulties and variety of train types. This influenced the work on the design of the local network equipment placement of trains – it was enormous. Secondly, during construction it turned out that almost all trains, even of the same series and year of manufacture, were different. It is connected with the fact that they were constantly modernized and additional equipment was installed. Such works were carried out separately for each train, and we equipped the train in a unique way each time.
